About the Author
SEAN MICHAEL WILSON is a Harvey- and Eisner-award-nominated comic book writer who has authored more than a dozen graphic novels and manga comics, including adaptations of The Book of Five Rings and The 47 Ronin. He is also the editor of the critically acclaimed anthology AX: A Collection of Alternative Manga (one of Publishers Weekly's "Best Ten Books of 2010"). Originally from Scotland, he now lives in Japan.

AKIKO SHIMOJIMA is a comic and manga artist from Tokyo, Japan. A teacher of digital comics art at a school in Tokyo, she is the illustrator of The 47 Ronin and has contributed work to many other publications. 

ANTONY CUMMINS is the author of The Secret Traditions of the Shinobi and True Path of the Ninja, among other books. Introduction to Logic

Before embarking on a "formal" logic course, my husband and I decided it would be best to give our fifth grader an "introduction to logic." While doing an internet search, I came across "The Critical Thinking Series" by Remedia Publications.
"The Critical Thinking Series" is based on Bloom's Taxonomy of thinking skills. The activities begin at a simple, concrete level and as the student's abilities increase, more abstract and complex activities are introduced. The series consist of sixteen work texts: Analogies, Classification, Absurdities, Similarities and Differences, Sequence, Drawing Solutions, Using Logic, Finding Facts, Following Directions, Relying on Reason, Knowledge, Comprehension, Application, Analysis, Synthesis and Evaluation. Each work text is consumable and includes the answer key.
"The Critical Thinking Series" will give your student a firm foundation to think logically while preparing them for "formal" logic. I would recommend following this series with "Critical Thinking Book 1 and Book 2" by Anita Harnadek.

good primer

Well written, easy to understand guide to many aspects of palliative care, with particular insight on the impact on nursing care providers. Being a hospice house nurse, some of the ethical conundrums have been sorted out before patients arrive at my door, but the end-of-life chapters were insightful and spot on to my practice. I have passed this on to my co-workers for there enlightenment as well.

In the early hours of July 14, 1958, Iraqi military officers overthrew the British-installed Iraqi monarchy. The Free Officers coup initiated an era of military and subsequently Ba'thist rule that only ended with the U.S.-led invasion of Iraq in 2003. Historians are at variance over the nature of what is called the Iraqi Revolution in the Arab world. Some scholars argue that the overthrow was merely a coup d'Ztat orchestrated by the Free Officers Movement. Other analysts contend that the overthrow constituted a real revolution. Very few works, if any, provide a detailed analysis in support of the 'revolutionary' argument. Dr. Romero's book advances the argument that the events of July 14 simultaneously constituted a coup and a revolution for a number of reasons, including military involvement, popular participation, and policies that radically departed from those of the previous regime.

Juan Romero earned his Ph.D. from the University of Texas at Austin. He taught Middle East history at Georgetown University in Washington, D.C. from 2008-2009. He currently teaches Middle East history at Western Kentucky University at Bowling Green.
